Lost in Google Space

I got a rude surprise earlier today from Google. Around lunch time I checked traffic statistics for DigitalFrap, I noticed that traffic seemed to have slowed down around 10am. At that time I didn’t give it much thought, I proceeded to check rankings for a couple of keywords I was trying to optimize for and to my surprise it wasn’t even ranked in the top 100. Then I checked for other keywords where I was already ranked in the first or second page and again DigitalFrap wasn’t even showing in the top 100.

So I went to www.digitalfrap.com and browsed through the site and saw that regular adsense ads weren’t showing up just some public service ads. This wasn’t looking good, my initial thought was DigitalFrap was banned. But a check through Google’s webmasters tools showed that it was still indexed. And also upon additional checking, I verified that some ads were indeed showing up but only for a few posts. So at least some semi-good news.

Why the posts are not showing up on Google’s search engine I still don’t know. Hopefully it’s just a glitch and things will go back to normal in a few days, for a site that relies on traffic from search engines not being listed on google is bad, bad, bad…
