Shawty, Shawty, Shawty, I never heard of the term before I read Silkenhut’s Shawty Songs article.

According to Wikipedia:

“Shawty” is the first single off of Plies’s debut album, The Real Testament. The track features T-Pain and is produced by Drumma Boy and Ensayne. The video premiered on 106 and Park and MTV’s Discover & Download. The video features celebrity cameos from Rick Ross, Rich Boy, Edgerrin James and Jevon Kearse. The track samples Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Fantasy“. “Shawty” is a southern name for “baby”. However, according to Plies, this term means “someone of the opposite sex who you have an understanding with”.

What’s more surprising is that there are a lot of songs and music videos on Shawty, which allegedly originated in Atlanta and refers to a short person but now means “a fine ass woman”.
